This worked for the ICD-PX720 in Windows 10. Might work for you.

1. Install the Voice Editor from the original CD.

2. On that CD there is a Folder called Setup. Inside that folder is win2kdriver folder.

3. Go into that folder and right click Sony Recorder_driver. Go to properties.

4. Click the Compatibility Tab and set it for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

5. Hit OK. Now double click the Sony Recorder_driver setup file. (it'll take a bit to install)

6. Go to you Device Manager and to your voice recorder.

7. Right Click and go to update/install Driver.

If you don't have the original CD message me. We'll figure it out.

Might work if you download the update file from Sony and do the compatibility change to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) as well, haven't tried that.

I read Benjamin's account and was so happy that there was a simple fix to this, but instead of going to the CD, I went to the Sony folder on my C drive and found a folder for drivers and installed it. Windows 10 said it wasn't compatible, but gave me the option of installing it with compatibility mode or something like that, you'll recognize it when they offer a choice one is with the word compatibility. The straight way didn't work, so I tried the compatibility mode and it worked. Love it.. Thank you Thank you Benjamin. I love it when a plan works.

you have to install

http://download.sony.com/US/voicerecorder/DVESetup_EN_3301.exe

then open device manager and manualy install the driver located at C:Program Files (x86)SonyICD-PX Series Driver

then use digital voice editor to acces the voice recorder

But I CAN´T INSTALL this DVESetup_EN_3301.exe..
I´m in Windows 10.
I have the software.
I ask to install.
Can´t.
I accept the 'windows way to compatibilty'.
It shows the 'Vista SP3' compatibility and... Nop, it doesnt go
I go to the properties, I check the compatibility boxes (I play with ALL possibilities)
And with Vista SP3..
It shows first a Blue bar filling
Ok.
Then it shows a GREEN bar.
It goes to the half-way
and.........................................
yeah, really this...
.............................................
Nothing happens.
.
I give up the DVE software and istall the 'Sound Organizer', as told by Sony.
It doesn´t have the driver.
I plug the recorder on PC and I go to 'Device Manager'.
Ok, IT´S THERE! So as the yellow '!', saying
- THERE´S NO DRIVER FOR IT! Bring me the Sony IC Recorder (PX) Driver..
Well..
I NEED HELP!!!
